DÉJÀ LOIN by Marie-Mai: the new single from her album Version 3.0

After C’est moi, which is still ranked in the lead of the Top 25 Pop Rock BDS, Marie-Mai releases a 2nd single to radio stations today, another excerpt from Version 3.0 named Déjà Loin.

More Rock than ever, Déjà Loin allows Marie-Mai to return to the heart of her favorite musical universe. “When we released C’est moi as the first single from Version 3.0 - Marie-Mai explains -, I was trying to convey the new musical turn Fred [St-Gelais] and I have taken since Dangereuse Attraction. With this single, I really go back to my roots and what I love: a song that’s intense and very rock, even if you don’t always find an electro element in it. I am going to start on a new tour soon and I really wanted to show the energy I intend to build on stage with this new album. For me, Déjà Loin corresponds exactly to where I currently stand musically!“

The text, written by Marie-Mai, unveils once again a determined and uncompromised young woman. Betrayed by the one she loves, she is today more than ever set on forgiving his digressions. Girl power enthusiasts can be naïve, but do not compromise once deceived. The intensity of this text is clearly reinforced by the use of chords, all the while in a very rock style. These chords however, are not nostalgic; instead they contribute to the energy, the strength and resolve of this young woman.
